Changing the lives of caregivers and people with loss of autonomy
The first version of the MedOClock® app was born in 2012
Driven by the desire to make a difference in her peers’ lives, Julie designed the secured technological platform that is MedOClock®, along with a team of developers. At that time, the tool was a smart pillbox. As her dad’s disease progressed, she went back to the drawing board. The second version of MedOClock® was born in 2018.
The MedOClock® app can now do way more than a smart pillbox: it helps with delegating tasks, simplifying follow-ups, and facilitating the organization around the person with a loss of autonomy (child or adult). It also allows caregivers to save time, overcome feelings of isolation, pursue their professional endeavours, and get some respite.
Since her husband passed away, for whom she was a caregiver in 2021, Julie has been pouring all her energy into MedOClock®. She strives to show her children that all her efforts are not in vain.
“We all have to be prepared. Tomorrow, we’ll be the ones in need of a caregiver!”

Planning for respite care and asking for help means acknowledging you can’t do it all alone.
Being a caregiver doesn’t mean being available at all times. It’s important to plan ahead by identifying trusted individuals and preparing a clear guide. Asking for help is not a weakness — it’s a sign of maturity and self-respect. The Canadian Cancer Society’s Community Services Locator offers over 4,500 resources to support people affected by cancer and their caregivers.
